Recently, I installed VMware ESXi server and I tried to install a CentOS Linux guest from my laptop running Microsoft Windows 10. I witnessed an issue where I could not get the full console of the virtual machine. When I checked online, there were suggestions to check whether VMware tools are installed properly; however, in my case, I was facing the issue even before installing the operating system. The following steps helped me to overcome the issue,

  1. Right click on the VMware vSphere Client shortcut
  2. Select Properties
  3. Go to Compatibility tab
  4. Under the Settings section, ensure to enable the checkbox Disable display scaling on high DPI settings
  5. Press the OK button
